NICK LUCAS
United Transcriptions
(United Transcribed System-2105 / MacGregor CT-5023)

After Nick Lucas left Brunswick in late 1932 he recorded for several labels and also recorded for some transcription companies including MacGregor,(around 1936) and The United Transcription System about ten years later.

The United Transcription service was a Canadian company that made recordings to service to radio stations in Canada and the United States. Hence the recordings would have never been released commercially as records. The exact dates and locations of the recordings Nick Lucas did for the United Transcription service company is unknown. Best knowledge is 1947 in Los Angeles.

Some of the titles are available on CD,
PAINTING THE CLOUDS. (Soundies SCD 4134)
This has been confused in the past with the 1957 Decca album by a similar title, Painting The Clouds With Sunshine (Decca 8653) recorded ten years later.

Here is a list of the United Transcriptions Nick Lucas did around 1947 and there must be others as I've never been able to track down a catalog for the company from that period.
